Booking Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 29 October 2026

These terms explain how booking, deposits, rescheduling and cancellations work at David Mc Gettigan: Pain & Movement Specialist, for appointments in our Monaghan and Dublin clinics and by telehealth. By booking an appointment you agree to them.

Why we take a deposit

Every appointment slot is held for you alone. A deposit confirms that slot, protects it for you, and means a late cancellation does not leave a session empty that someone else on the waiting list could have used.

Booking an appointment

  • Appointments are confirmed with a 50% deposit paid at the time of booking. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit is paid.
  • The remaining balance is paid at the appointment itself.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Deposits across a course of appointments

When you book online, you pay a 50% deposit to confirm. At each session, you pay the remaining balance, plus, if you're booking your next appointment at the same time, the 50% deposit for that one too. That way there's always a deposit securing your next visit, you only ever pay one amount per session, and nothing comes as a surprise.

Rescheduling

  • Rescheduling more than 24 hours before your appointment rolls your deposit straight over to the new slot, no refund, no repaying. The deposit follows you to the new time.
  • Rescheduling within 24 hours of your appointment is treated the same as a late cancellation, the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit applies to the new booking.

Cancelling

If you cancel rather than reschedule, what happens to your deposit depends on how much notice you give:

  • More than 48 hours before: Cancel more than 48 hours before your appointment and your deposit is refunded in full.
  • 24 to 48 hours before: Cancel between 24 and 48 hours before your appointment and your deposit is held on file as credit for 6 months, applied automatically to your next booking.
  • Within 24 hours, or a missed appointment: The deposit is forfeited as per our cancellation policy, and a new deposit applies to your next booking.

Missed appointments

If you miss an appointment without letting us know, it is treated as a cancellation within 24 hours: the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit applies to your next booking.

Genuine circumstances

Genuine circumstances are always taken into account for both rescheduling and cancelling appointments, if something serious comes up, talk to David and he'll look at it personally.

Pausing your care

If you need to step away and come back later, your deposit can be held on file as session credit for 6 months. Let David know you want to pause, your credit stays valid for 6 months, you'll get a reminder before it expires, and when you book within that window the deposit is applied automatically.

  1. Let David know you want to pause, he marks your deposit as on-file.
  2. Your credit stays valid for 6 months from the date of pause.
  3. You'll get a reminder a month before it expires.
  4. When you book a new appointment within that window, the deposit is automatically applied, no need to pay again.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you book is the one that applies to that booking.
