Our Approach
An integrated, whole-person approach to understanding and resolving chronic pain — because your body is more than the sum of its parts.
How Does It Happen?
Most approaches to chronic pain focus on the area that hurts. If your back hurts, they treat your back. If your knee hurts, they treat your knee. While this can sometimes provide short-term relief, it rarely addresses the underlying reason why that area is hurting in the first place.
Our approach is different. We look at the whole picture — your body, your nervous system, your movement patterns, your beliefs, your lifestyle, and your history. We understand that pain is rarely caused by a single factor, and so it rarely responds to a single-factor solution.
By integrating multiple disciplines into a single, cohesive framework, we are able to identify and address the root causes of your pain — not just the symptoms.

Five Pillars of Our Approach
Pain Science Education
Understanding your pain is the first step to overcoming it. We help you understand what pain actually is, why it persists, and how your brain and nervous system are involved. When you understand pain, it becomes less threatening — and when it becomes less threatening, it often becomes less intense. This is not about dismissing your pain as “all in your head” — it is about understanding the sophisticated biology behind it.
Nervous System Understanding
Your nervous system is the master controller of your body. When it becomes sensitised — as it often does in chronic pain — it can amplify pain signals, create pain where there is no tissue damage, and keep you stuck in a cycle of pain and protection. We work to understand the state of your nervous system and help it re-regulate, moving from a state of threat and protection to one of safety and confidence.
In-Depth Assessment
We carry out a detailed whole-body movement assessment to understand how your 360 joints move in time and space — identifying what's missing, what's compensating, and where the real drivers of your pain are hiding. Alongside this, we use a reflexive assessment and treatment protocol to test how your nervous system is processing sensory information, allowing us to make precise corrections that can have immediate effects on pain, strength, and range of motion. Together, these assessments give us a complete picture that most approaches simply miss.
Psychological & Lifestyle Factors
Pain does not exist in a vacuum. It is influenced by your sleep, your stress, your beliefs, your past experiences, your relationships, and your daily habits. We take the time to understand the full context of your life, because often, the things that are keeping you in pain are not the things you would expect. By addressing these factors alongside the physical work, we create the conditions for lasting change rather than temporary relief.
Personalised Recovery Roadmap
Every person is different, and every recovery journey is unique. After your assessment, we create a personalised recovery roadmap that brings all of these elements together into a clear, step-by-step plan. This roadmap evolves with you as you progress, ensuring that you always know what the next step is and why it matters. You are never left guessing.
How It All Comes Together
Comprehensive Assessment
We start by listening to your story — not just your symptoms, but your whole experience. We then carry out a detailed physical and neurological assessment to build a complete picture of what is going on in your body.
Education & Understanding
We explain what we have found in clear, simple language. We help you understand why you are in pain, what is contributing to it, and what we can do about it. Understanding is a powerful part of recovery.
Hands-On Treatment
Using a combination of movement restoration, reflexive treatment, and manual techniques, we begin to address the root causes of your pain. Many people notice significant changes in their very first session.
Movement & Self-Management
We give you specific movements and strategies tailored to your body that you can do at home between sessions. These are designed to reinforce the changes we make in the clinic and build your confidence and independence.
Ongoing Support & Progression
Recovery is not a straight line. We are with you every step of the way, adjusting your plan as you progress, addressing any setbacks, and celebrating your wins. Our goal is to get you to a place where you no longer need us.
